WELCOME to St. John’s Lutheran Church!

We believe that it is our mission to bring the Word of God to those who do not know Jesus as their Savior, to build the faith of those who do, and to share the love of God with our community and the world.

If you have any concerns or suggestions, please speak with the Pastor or Elder on duty.

Subject: Special Opportunity to learn about LBTC mission work

 Dear praying partners,

Greetings in the precious name of Jesus, our risen and ascended Lord and Saviour!

Most of the changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought into our lives are unwelcome ones... but I would like to tell you about one change that offers a unique opportunity!

Normally, LBT and LBTC missionaries meet every summer at the LBT offices in Concordia, MO, to put on an event called Concordia Mission Institute (CMI), but this year, due to restrictions on gatherings, the event will be moving online and will be offered free of charge from July 6-17!

I encourage you to consider registering for CMI 2020 if:

  • you might be interested in a career with LBTC,
  • you have considered volunteering with LBTC (as a missionary nanny or in other capacities), or
  • you are simply passionate about the ministry of LBTC and want to learn more about our work.

If you are interested in participating in CMI 2020 online, please email LBTC at info@lbtc.ca to learn more!

Joy in our risen and ascended Lord,

We pray for the most vulnerable among us.  Gracious Father in heaven, Your Son taught us that as we serve the least among us, we serve Him in cognito. We pray for the most vulnerable in our communities - our elderly, our sick, those who live in the streets, those who are isolated. Forgive us, when we have forgotten them in our haste to fill our own cupboards. As Your compassionate heart is turned toward the poor, the widowed, the least, the lost, and the lowly, turn our hearts toward them too, and make us instruments of Your goodness. Teach us to see Christ in our neighbor in need. Hear us, in the Name of Jesus Christ, your Son our Lord, who by His poverty, weakness, and death won life for all. Amen

Prayer Thoughts for the Week

We remember those needing your hand of healing, especially for Charmaine P, Chris Z, Olinda F, Larry N, Alice L, Ben B, Mel H, Terry T, Rachel B, Mike S, Alex G, Ken N, Don K, Ann K, Dale B, Albert K, Nora S, Bob and Dorothy W, Alison T, Michelle W, Karen D, Ruby D, Margaret D, Elizabeth B, & Bev W. Give them your strength and hope for every tomorrow.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, into this world to save us from sin and death.  His atoning blood is our salvation and there is nothing we can to do add to the finished work on the cross.  Jesus, you are our first love and we give you our hearts.  Complete your good work in us so that we can help share the light and the truth of the gospel.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
